Delhi: Team India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is performing brilliantly in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. He is the highest wicket-taker in this series and has recently created history in the ICC Test rankings as well. The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its new rankings in the beginning of 2025, in which Bumrah has achieved the feat of becoming the number 1 Test bowler.

Bumrah achieved the highest rating points

Bumrah took 9 wickets in the Melbourne Test, after which his ranking improved further. He currently has 907 rating points, which is the highest rating achieved by any Indian bowler. Earlier, R Ashwin was holding this record with 904 rating points, but Bumrah left him behind. Now he is jointly ranked 17th with England’s Derek Underwood, who is among the best bowlers in the world.

86 wickets in 2024
