Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their seventh match against Lucknow Super Giants (CSK) on Monday, breaking the Indian Premier League (IPL) defeat in 2025. Afghanistan’s young spinner Noor Ahmed was instrumental in this victory, who bowled brilliantly for only 13 runs in four overs.
After the match, Chennai’s bowling coach Eric Simmons praised Noor fiercely. He said, “I have read the balls of many spinners during my coaching, but it is difficult for me to read Noor’s balls. He is really difficult to read and this is his greatest strength. His desire to learn and move forward is comfortable.”
Simmons further said, “When you give only 13 runs in four overs, that too in such a match, he lays the foundation of the victory of the team. From the perspective of a bowling coach, it is not always necessary that you take a wicket, but also matters how many wickets you take for the team.”
He also appreciated Noor’s confidence, saying, “I saw him bowling on more accurate line-length. He also made slow balls, which reflects his confidence.”
This performance of Noor Ahmed has brought relief for Chennai Super Kings and the team will expect similar bowling from them.
