Delhi: Pakistan and England are face to face in the third and decisive match of the three-match Test series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Both the teams are tied at 1-1 in the series. In the last match of the series, England won the toss and decided to bat first. Considering the spinner-friendly pitch, both the teams have included more and more spinners in their playing 11. In the first two overs of this match, Pakistan took a step which was never seen before in its cricket history.
This happened for the first time in Pakistan cricket
Pakistan, which is called the factory of fast bowlers, is showing more confidence in the spinners in this series. The same was seen in the third Test also, when Pakistan started the bowling with off-spinner Sajid Khan. In the second over also, Pakistan handed over bowling to spinner Noman Ali. This was the first time that Pakistan started bowling with spinners in a Test match.
This happened for the fourth time in the history of Test cricket, when two spinners opened the bowling in the first innings of a Test match. This was last seen in the Chittagong Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan in 2019, when Taijul Islam and Shakib Al Hasan opened the bowling. First of all, in 1964, India had Motaganahalli Jayasimha and Salim Aziz Durrani bowl the first and second overs against England.
