Delhi: Former head coach of the Pakistan cricket team, Jason Gilespi has revealed that he is still waiting for his outstanding salary from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He mentioned this through his Instagram story, which was associated with an interview given to Pakistan media.

Gillyspi wrote, “I am still waiting for my remaining salary from PCB.” In another story, he said, “Gary Kirsten and I was shown a dream of forming a team, but only after losing a match, that dream flew into the air.”

Significantly, in April 2024, PCB appointed Jason Gillespie as the Test team and Gary Kirsten as the head coach of the limited overs team. Both were brought on a two -year contract and promised to start a new era in Pakistan cricket. However, six months later, the PCB withdrew most of his rights, which both had to resign under compulsion.

Meanwhile, PCB has once again invited applications for the post of head coach of the national team and the post of Director of High Performance Center in Lahore on its website. Please tell that since the resignation of Nadeem Khan, the post of director has been lying vacant and Aqib Javed is currently taking interim responsibility in all formats as a coach.

Significantly, when the PCB appointed Jason Gillespi and Gary Kirsten in April 2024, it was described as a new beginning for Pakistan cricket. The board promised them to give them complete freedom and rights so that they could take the team in a better direction. However, the situation changed in a few months. The board not only limited their rights, but also started intervention in team management, which forced both of them to resign from their post.

It is also worth noting that the board has neither given any official statement on this issue nor has shown any clarity about the outstanding salary of Gillespie.
