Delhi: The International Cricket Appead (ICC) recently held an important meeting in Harare, Zimbabwe. This meeting was the first major meeting held after the end of the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi did not attend this meeting. According to a report, it was said on behalf of Naqvi that he was busy with private work, so he could not attend the meeting.
No PCB officer was in the Champions Trophy final
In fact, after the final match of the Champions Trophy 2025, a big thing was seen that no PCB official was present on the stage to give the trophy. India won the final match. This entire tournament was done in the hybrid model, because the Indian team was not ready to go to Pakistan. Due to this, the matches were also conducted in Dubai and the final was also there.
After the final, when no PCB officer showed on stage, many questions arose. According to a report by India Today, PCB also sought a clarification from the ICC on the matter. However, he did not get any response from the ICC.
Senior officer Sumair Ahmed from Pakistan attended this quarterly meeting of ICC. He was also present in Dubai during the Champions Trophy. However, Mohsin Naqvi’s stay away from the meeting indicates that he is still angry with the whole matter.
Controversy over hybrid model
The Champions Trophy 2025 was hosted by Pakistan. However, the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) flatly refused to send its team to Pakistan. Because of this, the tournament was conducted in the hybrid model. PCB was initially against it, but later with some conditions she accepted this model.
