Delhi: India won the title of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 (ICC Champions Trophy 2025), where the blue jersey team defeated New Zealand in the final match played in Dubai. Recently, some reports claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suffered heavy losses due to hosting this tournament.

According to reports, PCB spent Rs 869 crore on the event, causing them to lose up to 85%. However, the PCB completely dismissed these claims and said that he has gained a big benefit from the Champions Trophy.

PCB spokesperson Aamir Mir and Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza said in the press conference, “All the expenses of the tournament were charged by the ICC. PCB earned revenue through gate money and ticket sale and after the audit we expect an additional ₹ 3 billion from ICC.” Aamir Mir also said that PCB had targeted to earn 2 billion rupees from the Champions Trophy, but the figure turned out to be more than expected.

According to the PCB spokesperson, the financial situation led by board chairman Mohsin Naqvi has improved and recorded 40% higher than the previous financial year. He claimed that PCB has now joined the top-3 richest cricket boards in the world. Also, the board has also paid a tax of 40 million rupees.

Apart from this, PCB officials said that they are waiting for clarification from the ICC for ignoring their board officer at the closing ceremony of the Champions Trophy.
