Delhi: The first match of the five -match T20 series between New Zealand and Pakistan was played on 16 March at Hegley Oval in Christchurch. In this match, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 9 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Pakistan’s batting was very bad, due to which the team could not reach even 100 runs. Due to poor performance, Pakistan recorded its lowest score of T20 international history against New Zealand.

Pakistan came to bat first under the captaincy of Salman Ali Aga, but the entire team collapsed for just 91 runs in 18.4 overs. This was the first time that Pakistan could not reach 100 runs figures in a T20 match against New Zealand. Earlier, Pakistan’s minimum score against New Zealand was 101 runs (Wellington, 2016).

Chasing a target of 91 runs, New Zealand won by losing just 1 wicket in 10.1 overs. The bowling of the Kiwi team was brilliant, especially Jacob Dafi and Kyle Jaymison’s performance was highly appreciated.
