Delhi: In the 10th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), batsman Sahibzada Farhan, who played for Islamabad United (IU), has made a big statement about the future. He has said that his goal is not just to make a place in the team, but for Pakistan to play for a long time.
In an interview with Jio News, Farhan said, “Whenever I get a chance, I will redeem it completely. I do not have to move away by playing just one or two matches. I want to make myself a part of the team for a long time.”
He further said that Pakistan has tremendous competition for opening positions, but the real thing is the right opportunity. He said, “The pressure of international cricket is different. No player can be evaluated from just two-three matches. I am not satisfied with only one or two innings. I want to score one or two centuries and records in PSL as well, so that the team benefits.”
Farhan said, “My goal is to be at the top of every tournament, whether it is domestic or PSL, a big platform. I am playing with the intention of becoming the top scorer in PSL 10.”
Virat Kohli’s record has been equal
Sahibzada Farhan achieved a major achievement in T20 cricket. After scoring three brilliant centuries in the recently concluded National T20 Cup, he scored the fourth T20 century of this year. With this, he became only the fifth player in the world to score four T20 centuries in a calendar year.
Earlier, this feat has been done by Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Jose Butler and Chris Gayle. However, Farhan is the first Pakistani batsman to join this list. He has broken the record of Babar Azam, who scored three centuries in a year in 2019 and 2023.
Veteran Chris Gayle has scored three centuries in a single year, three times and two centuries twice. His name has a total of 22 centuries in this format, which is a world record. Babar Azam is second in this list with 11 T20 centuries.
