Delhi: Due to rain on the first day of the third Test being played between India and Australia at Gabba, only 13.2 overs could be played. However, the weather cooperated on the second day and the game started. In the very beginning, veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah gave the first blow to Australia. On his ball, star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant caught Usman Khawaja and sent him to the pavilion. With this, Pant achieved a special achievement by completing 150 dismissals in Test cricket. He achieved this feat in his 41st test match.
Rain did not give Pakistan a chance to save honor in the third T20I match, South Africa won the series 2-0.
Included in top-3 Indian wicketkeepers
Rishabh Pant has so far taken 135 catches and 15 stumpings in 150 dismissals. With this achievement, he has joined the list of top-3 Indian wicketkeepers with most dismissals in Test cricket. Now only Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Syed Kirmani are ahead of him.
Behind Dhoni and Kirmani
Mahendra Singh Dhoni made a total of 294 dismissals in his Test career, which included 256 catches and 38 stumpings. Whereas, Syed Kirmani made 198 dismissals with 160 catches and 38 stumpings. Pant is now at third place with 150 dismissals. Among Indian wicketkeepers, Kiran More is at fourth place with 130 dismissals and Nayan Mongia is at fifth place with 107 dismissals.
