Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to be a bad form of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant in 2025, but in this difficult time he has been given an inspirational advice by former Indian opener Virender Sehwag. Sehwag says that Pant should seek his old style again and talk to his ideal Mahendra Singh Dhoni to gain confidence.
On Sunday, Pant was dismissed by scoring just 18 runs chasing a difficult target of 237 runs against Punjab Kings. This season, he has scored only 128 runs in 10 innings, and his strike rate has been 99.22, which is the worst figure of his IPL career. This decline is being seen when he was purchased by LSG for Rs 27 crore in last year’s auction.
LSG suffered a 37 -run defeat at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Talking on the cricbuzz on this occasion, Sehwag advised Pant to watch his old video, when he was batting brilliantly.
Sehwag said, “He should watch his batting, watch the video in which he has scored in the IPL. Watching gives confidence, how you used to hit the shot, make an innings. We have seen two different Rishabh Pant, before injury and after injury. He has lost that dominance.”
He further said that this is the time to join himself for Pant and if needed, he should talk to an experienced player like Dhoni, so that he can get mental clarity and confidence.
