Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) was seen in 2025 on Tuesday, which no one had expected. Punjab Kings (PBKS) created history by defending a score of just 111 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This is the lowest total in the history of IPL, which has been defended by a team. Earlier, no team had won on such a low score.
Pbks created history
On the ground of Mullapur, when the Punjab team was all out for 111 runs in 15.3 overs, it seemed that Kolkata would easily win this match. But, what happened in the second part of the match was beyond everyone’s imagination.
In the beginning, Kolkata got two shocks. Sunil Naren and Quinton Dickock returned to the pavilion early. After this, Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi tried to handle the innings. Especially Raghuvanshi made great shots and felt that Kolkata would win easily. But, then the match turned.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who could not do anything special in this season, bowled amazing in this match. Chahal shook KKR’s entire innings with 4 wickets. Glenn Maxwell and Marco Yansen also bowled accurately and maintained pressure. Andre Russell was at the crease as the last hope. He also scored 16 runs in Chahal’s over. But, after this, Arshdeep and Yansen together finished the match by dismissing Russell and the rest of the batsmen.
The entire Kolkata team collapsed for 95 runs in 15.1 overs and Punjab won by 16 runs.
