Delhi: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, a big news has come from the team of Punjab Kings (PBKS). The franchise has now included his own compatriot Mitchell Owen in place of injured Australian all -rounder Glenn Maxwell. Owen is currently 23 years and 230 days old. He bats with the right hand and also bowls medium pace.

Showing light in PSL

Currently, Mitchell Owen is performing brilliantly in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2025). He is part of the Peshawar Jalmi team captained by Babar Azam. As soon as his journey of PSL is complete, he will join Punjab Kings in IPL.

Owen is not playing in a big league for the first time. Earlier, he has also played for the team of Hobart Hurricanes in Australia’s Big Bash League and Parl Royals in the SA20 League of South Africa and has done well.

Punjab Kings have included Mitchell Owen in their team for three crore rupees. Earlier, the franchise bought Glenn Maxwell in the auction for 4.2 crores, but now he has been out of the remaining matches due to injury.

PBKS coach Ricky Pontin recently spoke on Maxwell’s replacement, saying that the player is getting delayed due to PSL. He said, “It has been a few days since Maxwell hurt. It has been two-three weeks for Ferguson. However, at this time PSL (IPL) is not available more quality players than being together. ”

Owen’s cricket career so far

Owen has not yet got a chance to debut in international cricket. But he has played all three formats in domestic cricket. By the time the news is written, he has played 14 First Class, 17 List A and 34 T20 matches.

Owen has scored 5 half -centuries in first class cricket, 1 century in List A and 2 centuries in T20. In bowling too, he has taken wickets in all formats, although his emphasis remains on batting.
