Delhi: Amidst the tension of war between India and Pakistan, there is a huge news for Pakistan cricket. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Mike Hessen as the new white-ball head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team. He will take charge from 26 May 2025. The post was vacant after the tour of New Zealand in April, for which many applications came. After considering all the options, PCB chose Mike Hessen for this responsibility.

Mike Hessen had previously been the coach of international teams like New Zealand and Kenya. He is currently the coach of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Islamabad United. Islamabad is the current champion team of United PSL.

PCB chairman announced

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi wrote on the social media platform x and wrote,
“I am happy to say that Mike Hessen has been appointed as the new white-ball head coach of the Pakistan team. Mike has a good international cricket experience and has prepared many strong teams. We hope that he will give a new direction to Pakistan’s limited overs cricket. You are welcome to the team, Mike!”

Hessen was selected for this responsibility because he is experienced and his record has also been strong. PCB hopes that he will strengthen Pakistan’s ODI and T20 team and prepare the team for the upcoming tournaments.
