Delhi: Discussions have intensified regarding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 starting in February. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has made predictions about this tournament. He has named the team which will make it to the semi-finals and can also be a contender to win the title.
The Champions Trophy will start from February 19, which this time will be played on the hybrid model. The Indian team will play its matches in Dubai, while the big match between India and Pakistan will take place on 23 February.
49 year old Shoaib Akhtar said, “I am confident that Pakistan team will reach the semi-finals. Pakistan will definitely make it to the top 4,” he said, adding that he wants Fakhar Zaman to return to the team and Babar Azam to have a great year.
Emphasizing the important role of Babar Azam, Akhtar said, “Babar will prove to be very important for Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. The team is performing well, and I am sure the team will play well in the Champions Trophy as well.”
Rawalpindi Express also predicted that Pakistan can win the Champions Trophy 2025 title. He said, “Pakistan will play its matches on home ground, so there is a good chance of winning the title. In 2017, Pakistan won the trophy by defeating India. Now the title should be retained while hosting.”
Final on 19th March
The final match of the 2025 Champions Trophy will be played on March 19. Now it remains to be seen how correct Akhtar’s prediction proves to be.
