Delhi: Preeti Zinta, a Bollywood actress and co-owner of Punjab Kings (PBKS), has filed a legal case against her fellow directors Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia in the Chandigarh court. Preeti, Mohit and Ness are the directors of the three KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited. The same company is the owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Punjab Kings.
Preity Zinta has objected to an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on 21 April. He says that this meeting was called without following the Companies Act 2013 and other rules. On April 10, he objected to this meeting via an email, which was ignored.
He alleges that Mohit Burman got this meeting with the support of Ness Wadia. Although Preeti and another director Karan Paul attended the meeting, he has demanded the court to declare it illegal.
In this meeting, Munish Khanna was appointed as Director, which was opposed by Preity and Karan Paul. In her petition, Preity Zinta has demanded from the court that Munish Khanna should be prevented from working as directors and no decision taken in the meeting should be implemented.
Despite the legal controversies, Preity Zinta is standing firmly with her team. She is constantly encouraging Punjab Kings by being present in the stadium.
Punjab Kings have performed brilliantly this time in the IPL 2025 season. Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, the team has qualified for the playoffs with 17 points in 12 matches, which is the first time since 2014. At the moment, the team is in third place and is trying to make it to the top-2.
