Delhi: Team India’s young batsman Shubhman Gill is currently a part of his home team Punjab in Ranji Trophy. He scored a brilliant century in the sixth round of Ranji Trophy being played against Karnataka. This innings of Gill got the team out of trouble, because Punjab team was reduced to 55 runs in the first innings.

In the second innings also, Punjab lost five wickets for just 65 runs. The team was in danger of being all out before 100 runs, but Gill, along with the lower order batsmen, took the score close to 200. Gill was out after scoring 102 runs, but his innings could not save the team from defeat.

In this match being played in Bengaluru, Punjab got the chance to bat first, but Karnataka restricted their first innings to only 55 runs and scored 475 runs themselves, giving Punjab a lead of 420 runs. After this, the pressure on Punjab’s batsmen increased and they again started losing wickets quickly.

Half the team out for 65 runs

In the second innings, half the team was out for 65 runs, but Shubman Gill remained alone at the crease. Along with the lower order batsmen, he played an important inning of 102 runs, due to which Punjab’s score came close to 200.

After Gill’s innings, Punjab team was able to cross the 200-run mark, but as soon as Gill was out, the other batsmen were also out quickly. Punjab team was finally all out for 213 runs and had to face defeat by an innings and 207 runs.
