Delhi: Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw, who was once counted among the big names of IPL, remained unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. He was offered at a base price of Rs 75 lakh on the second day of the auction held in Jeddah, but no team bid on him. After this, his trolling and memes started on social media. Shaw finally broke his silence on this trolling and expressed his views.

Memes and comments hurt

In a video shared on a YouTube channel “Focused Indian”, Shaw spoke openly about the criticism on social media. He said that most of the people who troll him are not even his social media followers. Despite this, he keeps an eye on his every activity, which he took positively. However, he admitted that some memes and comments also hurt him.

Shaw mentioned a video that went viral recently in which he was seen dancing. On the criticism regarding this video, he said, “It was just my birthday. what did I do wrong? If I was doing something wrong I would know. But when there is nothing wrong, there is no need to misrepresent it.”

Mohammad Kaif called it “shameful”

Former Delhi Capitals assistant coach Mohammad Kaif called it “shameful” when Shaw remained unsold in the IPL. He advised Shaw to focus on domestic cricket and said that only by scoring runs he can regain his lost respect. This is a difficult time for Prithvi Shaw, but he still has a chance to prove himself.
