Delhi: A drone has crashed near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium during the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. According to preliminary reports, it fell on a restaurant building adjacent to the drone stadium, causing partial damage to the building. After the incident, the local administration has sealed the area and the source of the drone is being investigated. Those injured in the accident have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment. Some reports are claiming that this drone was from India.
On the other hand, at the same Rawalpindi Stadium today, on May 8 at 8 pm, there was to be a competition between Peshawar Jalmi and Karachi Kings under PSL 2025, for which the stadium was fully ready. However, the event is seen in danger after India recently thwarted Pakistan’s missile attacks and targeting its air defense system.
This incident has also raised questions about the safety of foreign players playing in PSL. According to a report by The Telegraph, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) called an emergency meeting to review the situation. Most of the English players have decided to stay in Pakistan, but some players like Chris Jordan and David Willie want to return home soon.
It is feared that many foreign players may leave PSL if the situation worsened. Cricketers from many countries including England, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia are participating in the league. Meanwhile, IPL 2025 is going on in India, and the tension between the two countries has increased the concern of cricket fans.
