Delhi: Team India veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has revealed an old and shocking story. He said that during the West Indies tour in 2012, he had a robbery incident. Pujara said this at the launch event of his wife Pooja’s book ‘The Diary of a Cricketer’s Wife’. Indian ODI team captain Rohit Sharma, his wife Ritika and former coach Anil Kumble were also present on the occasion.
Cheteshwar Pujara revealed
During the book launch, Rohit Sharma questioned Pujara, “I know that this thing is not written in the book. India A is a matter of 2012 West Indies tour. What happened?”
Pujara first laughed and said, “I have not told this. Pooja knows, but not the whole details.” After this, Pujara mentioned the incident.
Pujara said, “I am a vegetarian and that night we went out to find vegetarian food. We were in TNT (Trinbago and Tobago). We had gone out around 11 pm. The food was not found but when he was returning, he was robbed.”
He refused to give more information, but told that this was the incident about which Rohit was talking about.
Rohit Sharma warned
To this, Rohit Sharma said, “The main thing is that Pujara is very stubborn. We had already warned not to go out after 9 o’clock in the night. This is the West Indies.”
In this event, Rohit Sharma also told that he has played against Pujara at the under-14 level. He said, “Pujara used to do long batting even then. When I used to reach home, the mother used to get upset, because my face was blown up.”
