Delhi: Pooja, wife of India’s legendary batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, has made some shocking revelations in her book “The Diary of a Cricketer ‘Sa Wife: A Veri Unuzically Memor. In this book, she has explained in detail the journey of her husband becoming the most trusted batsman in Test cricket. His performance in Australia, especially in the 2018-19 Test series, cannot be forgotten, where India created history by winning the Test series for the first time.

However, during that historic series, there was also a discussion to drop Pujara from the team. Pujara should not have known this, but he listened to the conversation during a phone call and he naturally distracted. Pujara’s wife Pooja has written this incident in the book. However, there is no dispute about this, so he did not write the name of the person who talked about excluding Pujara from the team.

In an exclusive interview given to NDTV, Cheteshwar Pujara and his wife Pooja spoke openly about the incident, which is now in the headlines.

Pooja said, “The purpose of writing this incident in the book was not to highlight it.

He further said, “I don’t think he knows anything about it, and no one knows. Its purpose was only two lines, but he was highlighted excessively.”

Pujara also said about this, “The person’s name is not written in the book intentionally. If we had to expose someone, we would take the name. I did not want to go much in this, yes I was disappointed, but I decided to move forward, when you are representing the country, then your job is to win the team.”

The right -handed batsman said, “My focus was on creating history in Australia at that time, when I was playing the Melbourne Test, then my focus was how I could contribute to the victory of the team. I was in good form, there was a lot of injury, but still scored a century and the team won the match. Everything went quiet. My thought was that I have to make history with Team India.”

Pujara further said, “A lot was at stake at that time, my father’s health was not well, when I was going to play Sydney Test, there were many things in mind. But, I knew that Pooja was taking care of Papa, which gave me relief.”
