Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Rajat Patidar, is currently in great form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and now only one win is far away from making a place in the playoffs. If RCB defeats Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, she will make a place in the playoffs.

Before this match, former South African batsman and RCB veteran AB de Villiers said that if RCB reaches the final, he will definitely come to India.

The final of IPL 2025 will be played on 3 June, while the playoff will start from 29 May. Qualifier-1 and eliminator matches will be played on May 29 and 30 respectively, while the qualifier-2 will be on 1 June. Venue for playoff matches has not been announced yet.

De Villiers (from 2011 to 2021) played for RCB for 11 years. He played many memorable partnerships with Virat Kohli. At one time, Bengaluru had a trio of batsmen like Virat Kohli, De Villiers and Chris Gayle, who was able to demolish any bowling attack.

However, De Villiers could not win a single IPL trophy with RCB. But, seeing the tremendous form of the team this time, he said that he wants to pick up the trophy with Kohli and if RCB goes to the final, he will be present in the stadium.

De Villiers said in Instagram Live, “Remembering me, if RCB reaches the final, I will definitely be with the team in the stadium. I will not get more happiness in something than lifting the trophy with Virat Kohli. I have dreamed this for many years.”

In the 13 -year -long IPL career, De Villiers represented two teams – Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and RCB. He scored 5162 runs in 184 matches (170 innings). During this time his average was 39.70 and the strike rate was 151.68. He scored 3 centuries and 40 half -centuries.
