Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) made a major change in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, including South African fast bowler Nandre Burger in the team in place of injured Pacer Sandeep Sharma. The right -arm semen has suffered a finger injury, due to which he is out of the remaining matches of the tournament. He took part in 10 matches this season.
The official statement released by the IPL said, “Rajasthan Royals have included left -handed pacer Nandre Burger in South Africa in place of fast bowler Sandeep Sharma. Burger has previously played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024, where he took 7 wickets in 6 matches. He will join franchise for Rs 3.5 crore.”
Interestingly, earlier the team had included 19-year-old South African wicketkeeper batsman Luan-Dre Pretorius in the team in place of injured Nitish Rana.
Significantly, this season of Rajasthan Royals has been very disappointing. The 2008 champion team has so far been able to win only 3 wins in 12 matches, while 9 matches have lost. Due to this, the team is out of the playoff race and is ninth in the points table.
