Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) star batsman Nitish Rana started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 while batting at number 4, where he scored 11 and 8 runs. He was sent to number 3 before the match played in Guwahati between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and he played an 81 -run knock off 36 balls. After this, he got a chance to bat only once in the next three matches.
Rana said before the match against Delhi Capitals in Delhi, “Things are different and sometimes the position of the match demands a combination of right-left hand, which is very important in formats like T20. In the first two matches, I batted below as needed in the first two matches.”
He further said, “In the third match, when I was asked if I would bat at number 3, I said yes and scored 81 runs. I have no problem with this, I will meet the team’s demand.” Nitish believes that he can bat on any order for the good of the team.
In the mega auction of IPL 2025, RR bought Rana for Rs 4.2 crore. For the last seven years, Rana played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he batted at all positions from opening to number 6.
