Delhi: Ravindra Jadeja, the all -rounder of the Indian team, is counted among the best all -rounders of today. His specialty is not only with bat and ball, but he is also a great fielder. In his presence on the field, the ball goes away from them very rarely. Leaving the catch is impossible for them. Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra also belongs to this, because he has also described Jadeja as a fetler.
Who told Ashish Nehra the best fielder?
In a conversation with Star Sports, Gujarat Titans coach and former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra was asked who is the best fielder in cricket history according to him. Nehra said without any hesitation, “Ravindra Jadeja.”
When the interviewer asked again, “Then and now, together?”
So Nehra replied, “I have seen very big fielders. Some are good on the boundary line, some in the inner circle, such as Jonty Rhodes, he was the best in the inside circle. If we talk about all-round fielding, names like AB de Villiers, Andrew Syamands come. But I will not keep the age of Jadeja in the team when he came up in the team. And till now, he is absolutely fit.
Achievements of Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja is the fifth Indian player to complete 2000 runs and 200 wickets in Test cricket. He did this feat in 2021. He was part of the 2013 Champions Trophy winning team, in which he was the highest wicket -taking bowler. Apart from this, he was also part of the team winning 2024 T20 World Cup and 2025 Champions Trophy.
Significantly, Jadeja is currently playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL2025. CSK’s condition has not been good this season. The team has won only two out of seven matches and the points are at the bottom of the table. Captain Rituraj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the entire season due to injury and now MS Dhoni is playing the responsibility of captaincy again.
However, CSK has broken the streak of its five -match defeat. He defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets on Monday. Now the team will look at another win against Mumbai Indians (Mi) on Sunday.
