Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lost by 6 wickets against Delhi Capitals (DC) at their home ground Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Delhi team achieved the target with 13 balls remaining. Let us know that in the first innings, RCB started a stormy start and scored 62/1 in the first four overs itself. The pitch looked great for batting, but after this the batsmen lost their rhythm in the process of playing big shots and the hosts started losing wickets fast.
On seeing this, the score was 102/5 by the 13th over and in the end the team could reach 163/7 only. Delhi’s Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav and leg -spinner Vipraj Nigam did not give RCB batsmen a chance to score openly.
In such a situation, former wicketkeeper batsman and currently RCB batting coach Dinesh Karthik expressed concern about the pitch after the defeat. 39 -year -old Karthik said, “The more runs in T20 cricket, the more fun the audience and broadcasters. We had demanded a good pitch for the first two matches, but what he got has been challenging for the batsmen. This pitch is not helping the batsmen.”
Karthik said that due to the ‘flaw’ of the pitch, the batsmen are finding it difficult to shoot and it was not easy to rotate the strike. He said that he will talk to the curator about this, so that the nature of the pitch can be understood.
He said, “We have tried to keep shots under control, but in T20 you have to play shots and many times wickets fall in it. We will talk to the curator and they are confident of doing our work. We will also try to make the best on our behalf.”
At the same time, captain Rajat Patidar also admitted that the pitch was different from hope and his team did not bat well. The RCB star said, “We thought it would be a good batting pitch, but it did not happen. We were starting to start, but suddenly our score was 4 on 90, which is not acceptable on this pitch.”
Significantly, RCB will now play its next match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on 13 April.
RCB’s performance so far
The Bengaluru franchise has so far played three matches out of their house and won all three. His victory has come against the three most successful teams in the history of the League. Patidar -led RCB started the season with victory in Eden Gardens and Chepock against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and then completed the hat -trick of victory by defeating Mumbai Indians in Wankhede.
Interestingly, two defeats of RCB season have come against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi at his home ground, Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
