RCB vs CSK: RCB clinched a thrilling last-ball win, beating Chennai by 2 runs to reach Bangalore

Delhi: In the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) scored 213 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs, batting vigorously against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In response, the Chennai team reached the end of the match but but remained 2 runs away from the target and could only score 211 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first, but the RCB batsmen proved this decision wrong. In particular, Romario Shepherd, batting in a stormy style in the last over, hit 53 runs in just 14 balls and also scored the second fastest half -century in IPL history.

Solid start of Kohli and Bethel

Virat Kohli once again scored 62 runs in 33 balls, including 5 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, Jacob Bethel scored 55 runs and gave a good rhythm to the team after the powerplay.

Second innings game

In the thrilling match of IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings had held a target of 214 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore and held a grip on the match for 16 overs. But after this RCB bowlers made a strong comeback. Especially the 18th over proved to be decisive, when Suyash Sharma gave only 6 runs while bowling the tight and rein in Chennai’s run.

Then in the 19th over, Jadeja and Dhoni together scored 14 runs in front of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, which required 16 runs to win in the final over.

Yash Dayal put the last over from RCB. He conceded just 2 runs in the first three balls and sent Dhoni to the pavilion. However, on the fourth ball, Shivam Dubey hit a six and killed him again. This ball no ball also came out, causing Chennai to get additional runs and free hits, but despite this, only 3 runs could be scored on the last balls. In this way, RCB won this breathing match by 2 runs.

Earlier, Lungi Ngidi and Krunal Pandya bowled brilliantly and demolished the csk’s middle order. Engidi took 3 wickets, while Krunal Pandya also took 1 important wicket. Yash Dayal took Dhoni’s crucial wicket for 41 runs in 4 overs.
