RCB vs PBKs match may result in rain, weather altered in Ahmedabad

Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is hovering to the final match of 2025. On Monday, June 2, the Ahmedabad Meteorological Department predicted that the sky will be cloudy on Tuesday and some areas may receive light to moderate rains. Meteorological Director Arunakumar Dasane said that the temperature is expected to be around 37 degrees and will be cloudy.

Both teams have a chance to win the first title

This time the final match will be played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Both these teams have not won the IPL title even once. The Bangalore team has reached the finals three times before, but could not win the title. At the same time, the Punjab team played the final for the first time in 2014 and now after a decade, he has made it to the final again.

Rain can cause hindrance in the match

At the moment, seeing the situation, it seems that the rain can once again play an important role. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of rain in Ahmedabad and surrounding areas. In such a situation, the final match to be played on Tuesday, June 3 may also be disturbed.

Why Venue was changed from Kolkata to Ahmedabad

Actually, the final match was to be held on June 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. But due to the possibility of heavy rains in June there, the BCCI shifted the match to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was decided to organize both qualifier-2 and the finals in Ahmedabad.

Qualifier-2 also affected by rain

In the qualifier-2 match played on 1 June, the rain also disrupted. The match was to begin at 7:30 pm, but after the toss, the rain came and the match started at 9:44 pm with a delay of about two hours.

The last final was also affected by rain

Ahmedabad had earlier also hosted the IPL final in 2023. The final match was to be held on May 28 that year, but not a single ball could be thrown due to rain. The match was done on the next day on Reserve Day, but even then the rain disturbed and the second innings could be only 15 overs.
