RCB’s name tarnished after loss to DC

Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continues to perform poorly on home ground in 2025. On Thursday, the team suffered a second consecutive defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, this season RCB is a completely changed team. They have strengthened the title expectations by defeating veteran and champions teams like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (Mi) in their homes.

But the story in Bengaluru has been completely opposite. This was the 45th defeat of RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is the record of the highest defeat by any team on any one ground. The special thing is that this ground is also their own home ground. The second number in this list is Delhi Capitals, which have lost 44 matches in the Arun Jaitley Stadium so far, while the third place is Kolkata Knight Riders, who have lost in 38 matches at Eden Gardens.

Talking about the match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and decided to bowl first and thanks to the spinners, RCB managed to stop it with a big score. Kuldeep Yadav (2/17) and Vipraj Nigam (2/18) bowled well and stopped Bengaluru at a score of 163/7 in 20 overs. In batting, Phil Soldt scored 37 runs (4 fours, 3 sixes) in 17 balls, while Tim David scored an unbeaten 37 runs (2 fours, 4 sixes) in 20 balls. Apart from this, Salt and Virat Kohli (22 runs in 14 balls, 1 four, 2 sixes) also played a faster partnership of 61 runs for the first wicket.

Chasing the target, Delhi had lost four wickets for waisting and the team had lost four wickets for 58 runs, but after that KL Rahul and Triston Stabs took the front. Both shared an unbeaten partnership of 111 runs for the fifth wicket and gave their team a brilliant victory. Rahul played an unbeaten 93 runs (7 fours, 6 sixes) in 53 balls, while Stabs scored 38 runs (4 fours, 1 six) in 23 balls.

With this victory, Delhi Capitals won all their four matches in this season and finished second in the table. At the same time, RCB is currently in third place by winning three out of five matches and defeating two in two.
