Delhi: The celebration of the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) turned into a tragic accident near the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. 11 people died in a stampede in the crowd. BCCI secretary responded
Saikia said that even though this program was a private event of RCB, BCCI is a responsible institution of cricket in the country and it cannot remain silent in such cases. Talking to Cricbuj, he said, “We have to do something at some time. We cannot sit and see just.”
He added, “This was a personal event of RCB. But, we are in BCCI and are responsible for cricket all over India. We will ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.”
According to reports, BCCI is now thinking of making some rules and prevention arrangements regarding such events. However, it is not yet clear what steps will be taken. The board will further consider this subject.
Arrest of three people
The police took a big step in this matter on Friday. RCB’s marketing and revenue head Nikhil Sojale was arrested. Along with him, two employees of DNA Entertainment Network – Kiran Kumar and Sunil Mathew have also been detained.
