Reason for Sanju Samson not playing today for Rajasthan Royals: Unavailable due to injury.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been ruled out of the match against Lucknow Super Giants in the current IPL 2025. In the last match against Delhi Capitals, wicketkeeper-batsman suffered a rib injury and had to leave the field in the middle. After the match, Samson confirmed that he was fine but not fit for batting.

Sanju Samson was scanned after that injury. Head coach Rahul Dravid said that his availability against LSG will be decided on the day of the match. During the toss, Stand-in captain Ryan Parag confirmed that Samson is not fully fit yet. He will start batting with Vaibhav Yashasvi Jaiswal in his place. At the age of 14 years and 23 days, he became the youngest cricketer to debut in IPL.

In place of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals have included Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the playing XI. Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to debut in IPL at the age of 14 years and 23 days. In this case, he left behind Prayas Ray Burman, who made his debut at the age of 16 years 157 days. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore in the mega auction for IPL 2025 last year.
