Delhi: Cricket Australia (CA) is preparing to pay tribute to the late cricketer Phillip Hughes on his 10th death anniversary. On this occasion, many special programs will be organized in domestic and international matches.
Flags will fly at half-mast at all matches, players will wear black armbands, and a moment of silence will be observed in Hughes’ memory.
Let us tell you that Philip Hughes’ life ended in a tragic accident on 27 November 2014, a few days before his 26th birthday.

The process of remembering Hughes will begin with the Sheffield Shield matches starting this Saturday. His old team South Australia will play against Western Australia in Adelaide, while his childhood team New South Wales will face Tasmania at the SCG. Teams from Queensland and Victoria will also be part of this program. Before the fourth day of these matches, all the players will pay tribute to Hughes by wearing black armbands and observing silence.

Players, officials and fans will remember Hughes’ life and career on the final day of the matches in Sydney and Brisbane on 27 November. The India-Australia Test match starting in Adelaide from 6th December has been made the main focus of this tribute. On this occasion, a documentary based on Hughes’ life, legacy and achievements will also be shown, which has been prepared by Cricket Australia in collaboration with his family.

Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said, “We know this will be an extremely emotional time for everyone who knew and loved Phillip Hughes. “We have ensured that his family is satisfied with these tribute events and that his life and achievements are remembered with respect.”
