According to ESPN Cricinfo, Rinku said, “Captain Meerut Mavericks in the UPT20 league was a big opportunity for me and I am happy that I did it well. “I really enjoyed captaincy because I got to learn a lot from it.”
Kolkata retained Rinku
Rinku plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. This franchise has retained him, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty and Ramandeep Singh. Rinku has so far scored 1899 runs in 52 matches in List A cricket. Uttar Pradesh will play its first match in Vijay Hazare Trophy against Jammu and Kashmir on 21 December.
Rinku may get the captaincy of Kolkata
Kolkata Knight Riders have released their captain Shreyas Iyer this year. In such a situation, who will captain the team in the upcoming IPL season is a big question. The team has players like experienced Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer worth Rs 23.75 crore, who can be candidates for captaincy. However, Rinku Singh has a great opportunity to present his claim in the IPL by performing well in the domestic tournament.
