Delhi: Australia defeated the Indian team by 10 wickets in the day-night test played at the Oval Stadium in Adelaide. This was captain Rohit Sharma’s first comeback after his absence in the Perth Test, but the Hitman’s performance was not impressive. Batting at number six, Rohit scored only 3 runs in the first innings and 6 runs in the second. Questions were also raised on the changes in his captaincy and bowling.
AUS vs IND: Australia defeated India by 10 wickets in the second test match, leveled the series.
After the match, Rohit admitted that India missed many chances, which became the main reason for the defeat. Also, he praised young fast bowler Harshit Rana. Rohit said, “Harshit Rana did not do anything wrong. He had performed brilliantly in the first test and practice matches. Sometimes players may have a bad match. Decision cannot be taken on them based on this. Harshit has both heart and soul. He is an excellent bowler and should get more opportunities.”
In the second test, Harshit conceded 86 runs in 16 overs, due to which many fans were seen angry on social media. He believed that Akashdeep should have been included in the playing eleven instead of Harshit.
It is noteworthy that the five-match Test series is currently tied at 1-1. Expressing confidence in the preparations for the Gabba Test, Rohit said, “We have great memories of the last time at Gabba. We have to make a good start by understanding this challenge. We will have to move forward keeping in mind the positive performance in the Perth Test.”
