Delhi: Indian captain Rohit Sharma broke his silence on speculations of rift in the Australian team. After the defeat in the Perth Test, Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood blamed the batsmen for the team’s defeat, after which there was speculation that things were not well in the team.
Team India was all out from 89/5 to 100 in 47 balls, kneeling in front of Australia.
What is the matter?
After the match, Hazlewood was ruled out of the second Test, but former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar claimed that Hazlewood was completely fit to play and was not injured. Gavaskar believed that Hazlewood was dropped because he blamed the team’s defeat on the batsmen. After this, discussions of rift started in the Australian dressing room.
Rohit replied in the press conference
During the press conference held in Adelaide before the second Test, Rohit was asked about the controversy in the Australian team. Rohit made it clear that he had no knowledge about this. “I really don’t know what’s going on in their dressing room,” he said.
‘The beginning of the series has been satisfactory’
When asked about India’s spectacular win in Perth, the captain praised his team profusely. He said, “The way the series has started is quite satisfactory and the team hopes that it will continue the same momentum in the future also.”
India won the Perth Test by a huge margin of 295 runs. Despite being all out on a low score of 150 in the first innings, the Indian team made a brilliant comeback with ball and bat and defeated the strong Australian team.
