Delhi: Rohit Sharma is under immense pressure at this time. His batting form is at its worst ever, and his captaincy also looks weak when the opposition is making big partnerships. Now the last match is left in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, which will be played in Sydney. This is the last chance for India to save the trophy. But, in some reports it is being said that Rohit can retire in the middle of the series itself, like MS Dhoni did in 2014-15.

No decision on Rohit’s future

However, according to a report by Cricbuzz, the selectors are in no mood to decide on Rohit’s future right now. If needed, selection committee head Ajit Agarkar will talk to Rohit after this series.

The report said, “Everyone knows about Rohit’s condition, but the selectors do not want to make any major changes in the middle series at the moment. Even though there are rumors that Agarkar has talked to Rohit, the reality is that such a thing will happen only after the series.”

This means that Rohit will captain India in the New Year Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. “If Rohit himself does not decide to step down from captaincy, he will lead the team in the Sydney Test,” the report added.
