Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah remains India’s only hope in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia. The story was similar in the Melbourne Test also, where Bumrah bowled with all his heart and gave India a chance to make a comeback. However, Australia ended the day in a strong position after taking a lead of 105 runs in the first innings. The half-century partnership between Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland took Australia’s lead beyond 300.

‘I just don’t feel strong enough now’
On the fourth day, thanks to Bumrah’s three wickets in the second session, Australia’s score became 91 for six wickets. However, during this time Bumrah looked very tired. In a video that went viral on social media, Bumrah told Rohit, “I just don’t feel the strength anymore,” when he was asked to bowl one more over.

In the absence of Mohammed Shami, who is yet to prove his fitness, and Mohammed Siraj’s poor form, Bumrah has become the most reliable bowler for Rohit Sharma in this series. In the second innings of the Melbourne Test, he bowled 24.4 overs and bowled a total of 53.2 overs in the match, which is the highest in his Test career. Bumrah took the third five-wicket haul in this innings.
