Delhi: In the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) scored 213 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs, batting vigorously against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Now the Chennai team headed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs 214 runs to win.
Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first, but the RCB batsmen proved this decision wrong. In particular, Romario Shepherd, batting in a stormy style in the last over, hit 53 runs in just 14 balls and also scored the second fastest half -century in IPL history.
Solid start of Kohli and Bethel
Virat Kohli once again scored 62 runs in 33 balls, including 5 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, Jacob Bethel scored 55 runs and gave a good rhythm to the team after the powerplay.
Middle order remained normal
Some wickets fell early in the middle of RCB’s innings, including Devdutt Padikkal (17), Rajat Patidar (11) and Jitesh Sharma (7) wickets. But after this, Romario Shepherd wreaked havoc in the last overs. He scored 53 runs in just 14 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 4 fours.
CSK bowling faded
For Chennai, Mathisha Pathirana took 3 wickets in 4 overs, although she also took 36 runs. Among the other bowlers, Noor Ahmed and Sam Curran got 1-1 wickets, but the rest of the bowlers proved to be very expensive.
Now challenge in front of CSK
Now Chennai Super Kings have to score 214 runs, which is a big goal. In such a situation, the team will need a fast and restrained start, especially in the powerplay. It will have to be seen whether Dhoni’s team can face this challenge or not.
