Great comeback of Pakistan
Despite all this incident, Babar Azam remained calm and continued batting brilliantly with captain Shan Masood. Together, they made a record opening partnership of 205 runs for Pakistan in the test match against South Africa. Shan Masood played an unbeaten inning of 102 runs, while Babar Azam scored a brilliant 81 runs. However, Babar’s wicket fell 14 minutes before the end of the day’s play.
Pakistan’s second innings was completely different from their first innings performance. In the first innings, Babar (58) and Mohammad Rizwan (46) played for some time, but after that the team completely disintegrated. Debutants Quena Mafaka and Viaan Mulder destroyed Pakistan’s middle order.
By the end of the third day’s play, Pakistan had scored 213/1 and were still 208 runs behind. However, this brilliant comeback has made the match very exciting.
