Delhi: Veteran Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar has given a befitting reply to former England captain Nasir Hussain and Michael Atherton. He accused both of repeatedly complaining of refusing to visit India to Pakistan. India has decided to play all the matches of the Champions Trophy (ICC Champions Trophy 2025) in Dubai, to which Hussain and Etharton objected and described “more profit”.
After this, England captain Jose Butler and South African player rope Van Dar Dusen also expressed their opinion on the issue. However, the England team lost to Australia and Afghanistan and dropped out of the semi -finals. Regarding this, Gavaskar advised the former English players to consider the poor performance of his team instead of focusing on India.
‘Always stop crying’
In a conversation with Sports Today, Gavaskar said, “These are all experienced people. But, are these people focusing on their team? Your team did not reach the semi -finals, why are you discussing India instead of finding the reason for this? You should care about the results. When you play for your country, the responsibility increases even more. But, these people always complain – ‘India got this, India got it’. We should ignore their words and focus on our game. “
Gavaskar further said, “India is one of the biggest forces in cricket. India’s contribution with television rights and media revenue is quite large. The cricket board of many countries earns from India. These people do not understand that their players are also getting salary due to the cricket market of India. “
After England’s poor performance, Jose Butler decided to quit England’s captaincy. On March 1, the match against South Africa at the National Stadium in Karachi will be his last match.
