Delhi: Everyday new records are made in cricket. Some records are capable of compliment, then some surprising that it becomes difficult to believe. One such record has been made in England, which you will be shocked to know. The 4th XI team of Richmond Cricket Club in England’s Middlesex County League was all out for just 2 runs.
England’s Middlesex County League competed
The match was played between Richmond CC 4th XI and North London CC 3rd XI. Richmond won the toss and decided to bowl first. But this decision was overshadowed by him. North London opener Dan Simmons scored 140 runs while batting. At the same time, the team also got 92 extra runs, out of which 63 runs came from wide balls. The entire team of North London scored a huge score of 426 runs.
When Richmond’s team came out to chase the target, the condition worsened from the beginning. In just 5.4 overs (34 balls), the entire team collapsed for just 2 runs. Out of these 2 runs, 1 run came from Wide, that is, only 1 run with the bat.
The most shocking thing is that 9 batsmen of the team were dismissed without opening the account. North London bowler Matt Rawson took 5 wickets without giving any runs. North London won the match by 424 runs thanks to his strong bowling.
Club management explained the reason
After this embarrassing defeat of Richmond Cricket Club, the club’s deputy chairman and head of cricket Steve Decin made a statement. He said that this was a situation like “Perfect Storm”. Regular players of the team were not available and some new players had to be included in compulsion. For this reason, the performance of the team was so bad.
