Delhi: Former Australian spinner Stuart McGill has been found guilty of joining the Cocaine deal on Thursday. However, he was acquitted of a large -scale allegation of participating in drug supply. The 54 -year -old cricketer was freed by the Jury of the Sydney District Court in April 2021 from the allegation of promoting a 1 kg cocaine deal. The deal was around 3.3 lakh Australian dollars.
However, the court convicted him of participating in drug supply. During the hearing, it was told that McGill had met his regular drug dealer with his brother -in -law Marino Sotiropolos. This meeting took place under his restaurant. McGill denied knowing the deal, but the prosecution said that this deal could not have been possible without him. The decision on his sentence has been postponed for eight weeks.
