Delhi: Indian all -rounder Shardul Thakur is once again moving towards a return to the Test team. The BCCI is going to announce the team soon for the 5 Test series against England. It is believed that Shardul Thakur can be included in the team for this series, which will strengthen India’s fast bowling attack.

33 -year -old Shardul Thakur last played a Test match against South Africa in December 2023 at Centurion. After this, he was excluded from India’s three domestic Test series and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in 2024.

The five -Test series between India and England will start from 20 June 2025. The first match will be played in the headingley of Leeds. The subsequent matches will be in Birmingham, Lords, Manchester and Oval.

Great performance in Ranji Trophy
Shardul Thakur performed tremendously for Mumbai in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy. Playing under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane, Thakur scored 505 runs, including a century and four half -centuries. He was the second highest run -scorer for Mumbai.
His performance with the ball was equally impressive. He took 35 wickets throughout the season. His form has come in the sight of the selectors and that is why he has become a strong contender for the tour of England.
