Delhi: Indian team’s veteran opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has no intention of leaving cricket right now. He said goodbye to international cricket in August this year, but after this he was seen playing in Legends League Cricket (LLC 2024). Now he is also going to participate in Nepal Premier League (NPL 2024). Dhawan will play for Karnali Yaks in NPL 2024. This will be the first edition of the league.

A total of eight teams will participate in NPL 2024 and the tournament will run from November 30 to December 21. There will be a total of 32 matches in the league and its format will be like IPL, in which one eliminator, two qualifiers, and then the final will be played.
Karnali Yaks has released a promotional video on social media, in which Shikhar Dhawan says, “Hello Nepal, I am coming to play Nepal Premier League. I will be playing for Karnali Yaks and am excited to meet the people of Nepal, so get ready for a new cricket adventure.”
Many foreign players will also participate in this first edition of Nepal Premier League, which includes names like James Neesham, Martin Guptill, Unmukt Chand and Ben Cutting. Along with Dhawan, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hussain Talat, Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat and West Indies’ Chadwick Walton will also be included in the Karnali Yaks team. All the matches of the league will be played at the cricket ground of Tribhuvan International University located in Kirtipur, Nepal.
