The year 2024 has been great so far for Shreyas Iyer, who was bought by Punjab Kings in the mega auction for IPL 2025 last month. This year he was an important member of the Mumbai cricket team that won the Ranji Trophy for the 42nd time.

So recently, under the captaincy of Shreyas, Mumbai won the title for the second time by defeating Madhya Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament. Apart from this, under the captaincy of Shreyas, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won its third title in the last IPL season.

On the other hand, now Shreyas Iyer seems very excited about playing cricket for Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL season. Recently, some photos of Shreyas wearing PBKS jersey went viral on social media very fast.

So now through a video uploaded by Punjab Kings on their social media handle, he said – Amazing feeling after winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. A lot of hard work went in behind the scenes, the boys performed tremendously. Now we have completed this part.

Shreyas further said- I am very excited to be a part of Punjab Kings. I can’t wait to join the Punjab Kings family. It was a very good year for me personally, winning four trophies. Now my main target is to win the IPL trophy for Punjab.

So Shreyas further said about Ricky Ponting with whom he has worked together a lot in Delhi Capitals. Shreyas said- I can understand what feelings there will be among the fans. With Ricky coming in, we have shared a great camaraderie from the past. We will limit our thinking and brainstorm on many aspects. Hopefully we will be able to perform well from the first match itself.
