Delhi: Shreyas Iyer was still running out of the Central Contract of BCCI. He was outside because last year BCCI removed his name from this list due to indiscipline. Actually, Iyer did not play domestic cricket, which broke the BCCI rule. But now the situation has changed. Shreyas Iyer has not only learned from that incident, but he has become more matured than before. His performance has brought him back to discussion.
BCCI’s decision based on performance
According to the Times of India report, after the BCCI Champions Trophy, the players have decided to renew the annual agreement as they wanted to review the performance of the players in this ICC tournament. In the new Central Contract, the grade of the players will be determined on the basis of performance in their three formats (T20, ODI, Test). The report also stated that BCCI will review Grade A Plus, which includes players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja.

Rohit, Virat, and Jadeja’s status
According to the report, the situation of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in the new Central Contract is under threat. All three can be excluded from Grade A Plus, because BCCI is thinking of giving priority only to those players who play all three formats.
Rohit, Virat and Jadeja have now retired from T20 format. Apart from this, their performance in the Test season has not been as impressive. However, the report also said that if these players win in the Champions Trophy, then their position may remain in the Central Contract.
