Shubman-Bumrah is not the ‘lion’ player of Team India, Indian coach revealed.

Delhi: India’s assistant coach Ryan Ten Doshet has praised the hard work and passion of fast bowler Mohammad Siraj. He said that Siraj gives the energy to the team which cannot be measured by data. Ten Doshet admitted that Siraj gives his 100 percent in every match, even if he does not get as many wickets as he expects.

‘She is like a lion’

Ten Doshet said, “We don’t realize how big we have to be a player like Siraj. Whenever he bowls, it seems that something special is going to happen. He bowls from the heart, like a lion.”

Constant sports and growing workload

Since the beginning of 2023, Siraj has played 24 out of 27 Test matches of India. During this time he has pledged 569.4 overs, which is more than any Indian bowler. Even around the world, only Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc of Australia are ahead of them. These figures show their fitness and hard work, but at the same time they also increase the risk of tiredness.

Workload management needs

Ten Doshet also said that Siraj never back down from workload, but that is why the team management will have to be used and used. “They are always ready, but we have to see when it is necessary to give them rest so that they can give their best.”

Changes in team possible for next test

The team combination for the fifth and last Test match to be held in Manchester has not been decided yet. There was a plan to include left -arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh in the team, but his availability is now suspicious due to injury. Ten Doshet said, “We will take the final decision close to the match. After Arshdeep’s injury, now we have to see how the situation remains.”

Siraj compared to Ben Stokes

Ten Doshet compared Siraj’s mindset to England all -rounder Ben Stokes. “Siraj is always ready to put another over, like Stokes did the last day of Lord’s Test. Such players meet less, and sometimes we have to stop them ourselves.”
