Delhi: Former Australian batsman Adam Gilchrist has given an important statement regarding the young batsman of the Indian team, Shubman Gill. Gilchrist says that Gill should focus more on his batting and not on his hair.
Gilchrist’s strong statement
Gill’s performance on the recently concluded Australia tour was not special. He scored only 93 runs in three matches and could not score any half-century. Due to poor form, Gill was also dropped from the team in the third and fourth matches.
Gilchrist, while reviewing Shubman Gill’s game in a podcast, said, “I wanted to give him three marks out of 10, but I will give four marks. I feel that no player looks special after taking off the helmet. Shubman should concentrate on his batting, not on his hair.”
Michael Vaughan also reacted
Not only Gilchrist is unhappy with Gill’s performance, but former England captain Michael Vaughan has also criticized him. Vaughan said, “I would give Gill four marks out of 10. His performance was disappointing. He is an excellent batsman, but he needs to make big scores.”
Gill, considered the future of Indian cricket, impressed everyone with his brilliant batting during the last Australia tour. However, his recent performance in Test cricket did not live up to expectations.
Gill had scored a brilliant century against Bangladesh in December 2022, but since then he has not scored any Test century with his bat. Cricket experts believe that Shubman Gill will have to work harder to bring consistency in his batting.
