Wicketkeeper batsman will make a comeback as CSK captain for the first time since 2023. Recently, Ganguly also appreciated Dhoni’s captaincy skills at an event, referring to his tremendous ability to hit big sixes at the age of 43.
Ganguly quoted PTI as saying, “MS Dhoni can still hit sixes, we saw it in the second match. Obviously, he is 43 years old, you are not expected to see the MS Dhoni you saw in 2005, it is quite natural. It is quite natural. But I think he still has the power to clear and hit.
I saw him playing in Punjab on the second day and he hit a few sixes. I think all his experiences, whatever they have achieved, they understand the game well like any other player and will do the same for CSK which will be right. ” He said, “If he has to play for CSK, he will have to become the captain of CSK. Because captain MS Dhoni is a different human being.”
Dhoni gave up CSK captaincy before the 2024 season and handed over the command to Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, the captaincy started for 28 -year -old Dhoni was not memorable as CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last season and lost four of the first five matches in the current season.
