Sourav Ganguly’s huge reaction to India-Pakistan match:

Delhi: Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed his opinion about the possible match of India-Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. He clearly stated that the game should be kept going, but terrorist incidents should stop.

Protests arose after Pahalgam terror attack

After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the India Champions team refused to play against Pakistan Champions at the World Championship of Legends. After this decision, the demand on social media started gaining momentum that the Indian cricket team should not play against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup.

Ganguly’s statement

In a conversation with NDTV on this issue, Sourav Ganguly said, “I am fine, the game should be going on. But, there should be no incidents like Pahalgam, terrorism should stop. India has always taken a tough stand against terror, but should have sports.” However, after this statement, he also had to face trolling on social media.

BCCI source clear

A senior BCCI official has clarified the situation amidst ongoing discussions about India-Pakistan match. He said, “The India-Pakistan match will not be considered again in the Asia Cup. The match will be played at the neutral site. India also participates against Pakistan in the Olympics, Asian Games and Saif Games. In such a situation, the cricket team should not have any objection to playing in multipurpose tournaments.”

Indo-Pak match will be held on 14 September

The source further said, “The match to be held between India and Pakistan on 14 September is not bilateral but part of the multipurpose tournament, so it will not be banned. If India does not play in these tournaments, then Pakistan will get direct benefit.”
