Delhi: South Africa on Friday thanked Australia in the semi-finals of the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 thanks to the brilliant bowling of Ashley van Vik (four wickets) and the best batting of Jemma Botha (37) and captain Kayla Reneke (26). Had defeated and made it to the finals.
Chasing the target of 105 runs given by Australia, South Africa did not start well and lost two wickets soon. However, during this time, Jemma Botha continued to score runs fast. He played a brilliant innings of 37 runs with five fours and two sixes in 24 balls. Captain Kayla Reneke scored 26 runs in 26 balls with three fours. Karbo Meso was dismissed for 19 runs.
South Africa won the match by five wickets by scoring 106 runs for five wickets in 18.1 overs and entered the final. For Australia, Hasrat Gill and Lucy Hamilton took two wickets each, while Cloo Answorth took one wicket.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. He started very bad and lost two wickets for 12 runs. Then captain Lucy Hamilton and Cauimehe Brery tried to handle the innings, but Hamilton (18) was dismissed by the run. Cauhemhe Brey (36) returned to the pavilion after scoring runs. Ella Brisco scored an unbeaten 27* runs with four fours in 17 balls.
Australia could only manage 105 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs in front of South African bowlers. For South Africa, Ashley van Vik took four wickets, while Anthabiseng Nini, Kayla Reneke and Seshni Naidu took one wicket each.
